Realme is ready to expand its Realme GT smartphone series with the launch of the GT Neo 5. Ahead of its launch, the smartphone was spotted on a Geekbench listing revealing some of its specifications.
Some online reports have suggested that Chinese smartphone maker Realme may showcase its Relame GT Neo 5 smartphone at MWC 2023 (Mobile World Congress).
According to a post on Weibo, realme CMO Chase Xu has confirmed the arrival of the Realme GT Neo 5. The smartphone will be launched in China in February. The Chinese smartphone maker is yet to announce the launch date of the GT Neo 5 in global markets. According to the poster, the smartphone will support 240W fast charging, which the company has already announced.
Realme GT Neo 5: possible specifications
Recently, possible specifications of the upcoming Realme smartphone also surfaced online.
The Realme GT Neo 5 is said to feature a 6.7-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The smartphone will come in two models. The Realme GT Neo 5 with a 5000mAh battery is said to support 150W fast charging, while the Realme GT Neo 5 with a 4600mAh battery is said to support 240W fast charging.
The Realme GT Neo 5 is said to pack a Sony IMX890 primary sensor with OIS support. The upcoming Realme smartphone may feature triple rear cameras with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. The smartphone is said to feature a 16 MP selfie shooter.
The Realme GT Neo 5 is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset paired with 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. The smartphone could run the Android 13 operating system with the company’s own user interface.
MWC event details
MWC 2023 (Mobile World Congress) is scheduled to be held in Barcelona, Spain from February 27 to March 2. The Chinese smartphone maker is expected to launch the GT Neo 5 smartphone at the tech show. The Realme GT Neo 5 is the company’s first smartphone to support 240W fast charging.
